Please join us in welcoming Igal Untershats back to the Bloor Yonge Chiropractic Team!

Igal Untershats is a graduate of Sutherland Chan School of Massage Therapy & McMaster’s University Contemporary medical acupuncture program with 7 years of experience working in a rehabilitative clinical setting.

As a Registered Massage Therapist, Igal’s passion lies in the application of soft tissue therapy for recovery after injury, restoration of health and injury prevention.

As a Massage Therapist with a clinical mindset, he applies a focused and goal-oriented approach to determine the best techniques for maximizing patient’s recovery.

Igal’s treatments are targeted, structured & tailor-suited for your condition, needs & physiology. He treats a wide variety of Musculoskeletal conditions such as golfers & tennis elbow, postural deviations, scoliosis, nerve compressions/pain, arthritis, chronic and acute back/neck/shoulder/lower & upper limb pain, spinal stenosis, sciatica, headaches & postural alignment.

Igal’s philosophy is “match the technique to the pathology or the condition.” He uses a variety of modalities such as muscle energy techniques, positional release, fascial manipulations, massage techniques, joint & joint-capsule mobilizations, cupping (both dynamic & static), pressure/trigger points therapy, scraping tools, along with different types of acupuncture techniques like peripheral nerve stimulation, dry needling, functional fascial therapeutics & The Balancing Method.

Igal always strives to grow as a therapist and aims to constantly improve his orthopaedic skills, knowledge of neuro functional anatomy, and learning new modalities through continuous education. Through this, he is able to relieve his patients’ pain and return them to the things they love to do.

The mind and body connection is integral in Igal’s approach. He tries to inspire and empower his clients to restore that relationship between the self and the body, for happier and healthier living.

“I believe that we are all unique — we have different bodies, bone structures, nervous systems and tissue sensitivities; therefore my approach to treatment is individualistic, keeping all those elements in mind.”
